About Us

Afri-Tanzania Volunteers for Change hereinafter referred to as ‘‘AVC’’ is a Non-Governmental Organization is a non-political and non-profit making organization registered and operate in Tanzania in accordance with the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania. AVC is a registered volunteer organization with the registration number 00NGO/00007623 in Tanzania, East Africa.

AVC is a youth-led volunteer organisation designed to encourage and further community development in Tanzania.   AVC was founded by a group of young men and women eager to uplift themselves from unemployment and poverty and to make positive changes within their communities. AVC is based on empowering children, youth and disadvantage groups through education, capacity building and economic empowerment programs to mitigate poverty in Tanzania.

AVC organization supports disadvantaged communities by bringing their stories and experience to the attention of the public, decision-makers and stakeholders.  We undertake advocacy locally and nationally to bring about positive change to policies and practices and help raise awareness of important development issues. AVC organization has successfully implemented several sustainable projects namely, Economic empowerment project, Invest in One child project, Disability Empowerment Project and After-school project since it has established in 2013.  AVC’s head office is located in Kinondoni Municipality, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

Our Vision

AVC envisages seeing the enhanced capacities of youth and children in the communities hence being capable of fighting critical cultural, social and economic problems in the community to attaining sustainable livelihoods.

Our Mission

AVC promotes sustainable socio-economic well-being and livelihoods of youth and children in underserved communities through youth-centered, gender sensitive and environmental friendly lobbying and advocacy, economic empowerment, capacity building,  networking, research and development interventions.
